Silo Scramble

Abandoned grain silos covered in graffiti, mud deep enough to swallow a front wheel, and five bikes going into the same corner at the same time. Mount Kalaga's off-road scene doesn't need a sanctioned circuit.

About

The decommissioned grain silos on the edge of Mount Kalaga's highlands have been repurposed by the local off-road community into one of the best unsanctioned race environments in Leonida. The track runs through the muddy industrial terrain surrounding the silos — berms and jumps cut into the earth by repeated use, the silo towers providing obstacles, ramps, and elevated launch points that a purpose-built track would never design intentionally. Bikes go over and through and around the infrastructure at full speed. An ATV launches off a conveyor structure in the background. The mud is part of the competition, not an obstacle to it. Show up with a capable dirt bike and find out what the local riding level actually is.

Best Time to Visit

Morning through afternoon — the track is fastest before the afternoon heat softens the mud

Travel Tips

  • The conveyor structure on the left side of the silos is a launch ramp. It is not rated for this use. It is used for this anyway
  • The mud gets deeper on the inside of the corners. The riders who know this take different lines
  • Show up early — the informal session starts before anyone officially organizes it
